Education is our purpose. Whether we are editing and designing educational publications such as extension circulars, NebGuides and NebFacts, or writing stories for extension’s Connect, CASNR’s Class Acts and IANR’s Leading Object newsletters, our focus is on informing Nebraskans of the knowledge and opportunities available through IANR’s teaching, research and extension education.
CIT publishing’s award-winning team is here to help. We provide expertise in editing and design of extension and other publications, newsletters, brochures, flyers, etc., as well as typesetting, graphic design and illustration. We offer publications and communications/ marketing consulting, and also provide distribution services that include printing, mailing and shipping.
Editing and publication coordination
A team of editors with a fine eye for grammar and format and expertise in editing manuscripts for readability and consistency can help you select a format and develop a publication that meets your goals. They’ll also shepherd your publication through the production process.
Publication and other graphic design
Skilled graphic designers trained in fine and graphic arts help authors communicate their message through illustrations, graphic design, photos and publication design. They also produce artwork for other IANR projects including posters, promotional materials and special projects.
Desktop publishing and layout
Complicated tables become easily accessible and manuscripts are formatted to reflect the professional image of the writer and publisher through our desktop publishing services. From publications to award certificates, pieces are prepared to meet printer specifications.
Illustration
Through fine and graphic art, our artists can develop illustrations to more fully convey information in a publication or provide the minute detail not readily communicated through a photo. It’s an old, but true saying, "One picture can be worth a thousand words."

Editors and writers experienced in crafting targeted messages for specific audiences can help you tell the story of your research, teaching or extension education program or help you develop an information campaign that reaches across media formats.
Printing and copying
CIT offers a range of printing and copying services through University printing services and will coordinate special services through outside printers to ensure you get the publication or product that best fits your needs. Mailing and distribution
CIT Distribution can help with your packaging, mailing and distribution needs. From specially cushioned shipments to large postal-ready mailings, they can help you sort out the options for your distribution challenges. They also manage and distribute the thousands of printed pieces available through extension, 4-H and other IANR entities.
